Spark Cubic Panorama’s

After my last post I just remembered never posting these Spark 2005 Panorama's made by Aldo; hoeben.net.

There's one pano in there made during the session martijn (he's obscured by the enormous screens on the presenters desk though) and me did, I can recognize almost the entire front row. [ShockWave alert].

First off all : thanks to you all that came to our (Martijn and Me) session at Spark. It had been a blast to do it. Although preparation turned into last minute work again, we both felt comfortable on the topic, so I guess all went fine. I've been getting some pretty nice responses from visitors, which is very nice indeed.
The conference itself has been great, and I've been meeting lots of great people. The OSFlash dinner @ Spark was cool, much better then the 4 people showing up at MAX. I guess it was about 35 people.
Unfortunatly (or not, actually), I was, and am very busy busy with client work, so I haven't found any time to make a decent post about Spark, or any uploads related to either Spark, or my part of the session. I had to leave early on friday, so any of you who I haven't said any proper goodbye too, and who know they deserve it : "see you soon!"

I'll be uploading & cleaning up in the coming week :
Spark pictures (taken on my cell, but decent quality).
Spark source files (clouds, feedback, mandelbrot)
"that video I still had to do".

Anyway, come back later this week, and I'll have some stuff to download for you.
For now here is a screenshot of the opening demo & other demos we used at Spark (and Flash 8 Launch actually). This thing is entirely scripted and fully 8! Thanks to Niko for graphics, Thomas for music and Ubi for "catering".

MXUG : Meeting @ Spark

I've got a great announcement from MXUG (the dutch User Group) : There will be a MXUG meeting @ Spark in "De Balie" on Wednesday the 16th of November, 19:00. The topic will be OSFlash (which I my opinion is one of the most happening things at the moment). Spark Europe has kindly donated the space, and some of the speakers at the Spark Conference will also speak at the MXUG meeting;

Edwing van Rijkdom (Screenweaver, NL)
Luke Hubbard (Codegent, UK)
John Grden (Blitz, US)

If you have or haven't shown up on one of the MXUG meetings, this is the time to come again, or come first. Be sure to invite your colleagues/friends to come too! Like to see you there!

Preparing for Spark 2005

So, only a week left, and Spark Europe lifts off! I really feel like it, not just the session I'll do together with Martijn, but also meeting everyone out there. Kind of curious how many people are showing up from the Netherlands, and how many from outside. I already got in contact with some off you people about meeting up, but if you want too, you can always send me a mail ( ralph at unitzeroone.com). My ex-colleague and friend Ubi has got a place to stay (I live in the Netherlands, and work in Amsterdam, but Spark will probably mean late nights in Amsterdam). Thanks oobie. Anyway, I still have alot of work at the office, and also want to make some better examples for the presentation, so maybe my posting will go a bit down the next days. I'll try and do some blogging at Spark itself, so all off you who can't be there can at least enjoy something off it. Tonight I'll put up one more 8.5 source, that's going to be the last until next week. Furthermore I still owe you all a video of Gary Grossman's session. Still haven't found the time and the right cable to convert the video. It's coming, it's coming. Anyway, hope to see you all at Spark.

Speaking at Spark Europe

All is arranged and setup, I will be speaking at Spark Europe, doing a shared session together with Martijn, who's always great to work with. The title of the session is : "Flash Expressiveness for Flash Developers". Very excited about doing this. If you're there, and you've read my blog, come and say hi at Spark! (I'll be there all days anyway).
